DJ DISLEXICAN

Born in Las Cruces NM, 23 year old old Dj Dislexican has been writing and playing music since six years of age and grew up loving vinyl records and djing since he could remember. The influences were just about anything you could think of, but he was heavily influenced by Jazz, and Blues. Thanks to a bunch of cool people he was able to make it possible in music by listening to anything and sampling.  At the age of 13 he started writing flows and didn’t really get into it until he met MC Shaman aka J Doolz. Then he started to practice and battle cats from all over. Going from school to school he met a lot of people who were influences on his music like Defect, and Justin Sacca, Doughboy, Mic Device, Dj Pervee. At 17 he started a radio gig at KRUX 91.5 the local college station. He didn’t know anything about sampling until he met Dj Dz1 of Labx3 and Pdr records. They got together and made music happen thanks to Lonewolf making it happen.Two bumpy years passed and he was introduced to The Mischievous One. When they met they battled for hours until their voices went out. They started The Incredible Duo and then Doughboy came along and started the Joint Session. Dough and Dislexican made Land Of Enchantment (L.O.E) Records and made tracks in a shack at an undisclosed location. During this period, Dj Dislexican was introduced to the late great Steve Crosno, who was a DJ that was extremely popular in the southwest. Crosno showed Dj Dislexican the how to’s and the ins and outs of radio and about Djing and helped him produce albums until he died in 2006. After his death his friend Manny and others have had the task of clearing out over 50 years of records and recording junk, and getting through all this. DJ Dz1 and DJ Unkle Pervee started the Dugout radio show on KRUX 91.5 FM still into this year… Now he has his own show called the minus plus one show and its on from 10-12pm thrusdays. Now Dj  Dislexican does beatmaking and underground hip-hop for life!
